God Our Provider
Coming off an incredible Sunday, a start to a new Bible study in Galatians, and the wedding of Marco and Marissa, this Sunday was full of great things sure to come! God did not disappoint either. We deeply encountered his presence with such peace and a faithfulness we’ve come to expect.
The team arrived in great happiness and started in right away getting things going. We were able to get things all set up and all come together for a time of prayer that truly set the tone for the day. Alia read Psalm 148 for us and we all prayed together. We could truly sense his presence. At the end, we all prayed for members of the church family. The voices were loud and filled the room as we all prayed and you could sense that heaven was hearing our cries.
Before service started, we got our coffee, snacks, and hung out, catching up with those we hadn’t seen for at least a week. As the time drew near for service to begin, Santi called everyone in, we prayed, and then sang Goodness of God, and you could hear the saints rejoicing in this! What a great sound to reach heaven and start the service.
We had the privilege of having Donna back in town and she shared for a brief moment on the goodness of God running after us, and the faithfulness of the God we serve. After that, Sophia came up to share her testimony of getting baptized last Sunday, and read some Scriptures for us to prepare for the teaching.
Pastor Ryan opened up a new series on money and finances as he taught on the faithfulness of God as our provider. How can you move from knowing that God is your provider to truly experiencing His provision in your life? In this sermon Pastor Ryan taught from the story of Abraham in Genesis 22:1-14, where God tested Abraham’s faith and revealed Himself as Jehovah Jireh—“The Lord Will Provide.” We learned how to remain vulnerable and say “Here I am” in moments of testing, trusting God to guide and provide even when the path is unclear. You can listen to the sermon here.
After the teaching, we engaged in worship. The atmosphere was already set from earlier in the morning and we continued to proclaim the faithfulness of God in our worship to Him. We had prayer partners standing up front during worship and the response of people coming forward during worship to be prayed for was a sight to behold. How precious is it that we can come together as brothers and sisters and pray for each other, encourage each other, and build each other up in faith.
Prayer continued after we took communion together, and people didn’t seem to want to go home. It’s a mark of a healthy church when the body wants to be with each other and fellowship together. We continued that hang out time as we picked everything up and even more so as we were out in the parking lot together.
What a rich day in the Lord, His presence, and with each other. We’ll be back at it this Wednesday at MDWK Bible Study, getting into Galatians 2. We hope to see you there and encounter more of God’s faithfulness and goodness, that never runs dry.
